Tarrant County votes cast, Nov 2026
391,064 ballots in Tarrant County through the first eight days of early voting (Oct 26), counting early votes and mail ballots returned. That is 1.6x the 2022 midterm at the same point and 88% of 2024. Voters from the March Democratic primary cast 33.0% of early votes, against 8.8% in 2024.
1.6x 2022 (countywide only)
Votes cast by day
Early votes in person and mail ballots returned, by date. 2022 and 2024 are lined up by days before Election Day, so each point compares the same stage of early voting (all three years started early voting on a Monday). Tarrant County's early-vote rosters carry no vote date, so 2026 early votes are dated by the first daily roster that lists each voter; the first roster covered Oct 19 and Oct 20 together, so ZIP lines start on Oct 20 and Oct 19 is countywide only, from the county's daily count. 2022 is countywide only, from the Texas Secretary of State, and so is 2024 early voting; mail lines by ZIP come from the county's mail rosters, which carry return dates. The newest day's mail count can be partial. Hover or tap for each year's numbers.

Ballots cast at the same point: early vote + mail
Early votes in person plus mail ballots returned, through the first eight days of early voting in each year (the same number of days before Election Day).
Ballots by ZIP code
Hover or tap a ZIP for its numbers; tap again to filter the dashboard to it.
ZIP shapes are Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas, trimmed to the county line, with major freeways for reference, so ZIPs that cross into Dallas, Denton, Johnson, Parker or Wise counties show only their Tarrant part. Each voter is placed by the residence ZIP on the county's roster. ZIPs with few ballots can show extreme shading. The vs-2024 shading needs 2024 early votes by ZIP at the same point, which aren't loaded yet; until then that measure is blank.
Party mix: 2026 so far vs all of early voting in 2022 and 2024
2026 is a running total; 2022 and 2024 are final. The 2026 bars count ballots through Oct 26 (the first eight days of early voting). The 2022 and 2024 bars count every early vote cast over each election's full early-voting period and every mail ballot returned. Tarrant County's past early-vote rosters have no vote dates, so those years can't be cut to the same point.
Ballots split by which party's primary the voter took that March, using each year's own primary. "No primary" means they skipped it, not that they're independent. Primary sizes swing a lot, so these shares partly reflect who voted in March: —

How this was built
Sources: Tarrant County's cumulative early-voting roster through Oct 26, 2026 (the first eight days of early voting) and its ballot-by-mail roster with return dates through Oct 26, for the Nov 3 general, from the Elections Administration's roster files on TarrantCountyTX.gov. Every record carries a state voter ID, residence address and precinct. Each voter counts once, and a voter on both lists counts as an early voter. The county's daily count for Oct 19 was 50,409 early votes; the state's report for Tarrant (3,000 that day) is incomplete and isn't used.
The county's early-vote rosters have no vote date. 2026 votes are dated by the first daily roster that lists the voter. Mail voters are placed by the residence ZIP on their other Tarrant rosters (2026 early, March 2026 primary or 2024), since the mail list can show a mailing address; otherwise by the most common ZIP in their precinct.
Same-point comparisons line up each year by days before Election Day: early votes through the first eight days of early voting (Oct 26, 2026; Oct 28, 2024; Oct 31, 2022), plus mail ballots returned by that date. 2024 early votes at that point are countywide only, from the Texas Secretary of State's archive; 2024 mail comes from the county's Nov 2024 mail roster (about 1% above the state's count). 2022 is countywide only, from the Secretary of State, because the county's 2022 rosters have no vote or return dates. "Skipped 2024" means no record on any Nov 2024 roster, so it includes people who moved to Tarrant County since. Inside Loop 820 is the 19 ZIPs that sit mostly inside I-820.
Party is primary participation, not registration: Texas has no party registration. 2026 ballots are grouped by the voter's March 2026 primary (early, mail and Election Day rosters). The party mix chart compares them with the complete early vote and mail of Nov 2022 and Nov 2024, each split by that year's own March primary (Mar 2022 and Mar 2024 rosters), because the county's past early-vote rosters have no vote dates; the 2026 bars are a running total, the 2022 and 2024 bars are final. Primary sizes swing a lot from year to year (the Republican primary was the larger one in 2022 and 2024, the Democratic one in 2026), so shifts in these shares partly reflect who voted in March. The Nov 2022 history uses the county's 2022 early, mail (returned ballots only) and Election Day rosters. There is no age breakdown: Tarrant County's posted rosters and voter files carry no birth dates. Party colors follow each party's logo: Democratic blue and Republican red.
